There are many seasonal activities in the Twin Ports. The summer is kicked off with activities all around the lake. Starting in June is Grandma?s Marathon; a 26.2-mile marathon located on the scenic North Shore of Lake Superior & into Duluth. There is also a Dragon Boat Race Festival on Superior?s Barker?s Island & the Bayfront Blues Festival in Duluth. The fall brings the ?Ship of Ghouls?, a haunted ship (William A. Irvin) docked at the harbor in Canal Park. The winter holds the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon; which finishes at Duluth?s Spirit Mountain, a skiing and recreation area.
There are many things to do around the Duluth/Superior area. The views of Duluth/Superior from Enger Tower are spectacular! During the summer time you can spend your time swimming or boating in one of our many area lakes, walking along our lakefront trails, enjoying the annual Blues Fest music event or relaxing in one of our many city parks.
